BEST. SUMMER. EVER.
Summer camps at the YMCA give children the opportunity to try new things, make new friends, and create lasting memories.
Summer Day Camp
Children entering 1st Grade through 6th Grade
The YMCA Day Camp program provides our campers with opportunities to meet new friends, learn new skills, and connect with nature through meaningful outdoor experiences. A YMCA Membership is encouraged but not required. Day Camp activities allow children to create arts and crafts, explore science and technology, swim, participate in field trips, and appreciate nature.
Day Camp also offers children positive developmental experiences and encourages them to forge bonds with each other and with staff, building confidence through skill-building activities suited to their age. Day Camp gives young people an experience that can last a lifetime and inspire them to continue involvement with the Y for years to come.
Leaders in Training (LIT)
Children entering 5th Grade through 9th Grade
Applications Required
The Leader-In-Training (LIT) program provides participants the opportunity to develop strong leadership skills and self-confidence in the camp setting. This program is for late elementary and middle school leaders who want to make an impact on their community. LITs participate in teambuilding activities, engage in multi-week service learning projects, and develop the talents necessary to work with their peers and younger children. LITs are integrated into the camp program and receive hands-on experience working with our counselors. Under the supervision of Day Camp Counselors, LITs will have an augmented camp day that includes fun camp activities for themselves as well as learning portions of the day where they might be interacting directly with groups of children.

Camp Olson
The Spirit of the Northwoods is the essence of Camp Olson YMCA. The Spirit is alive, not only in the activities, songs, and laughter that fill our days; but in the peaceful reverie of campers who, for the first time, behold the Milky Way splashed across the night sky. It is the community of youth, families, and leaders from across the globe that grows each summer and comes together to share in the fun, fellowship, adventure, and spiritual growth. It is the respect and reverence for the environment that is instilled in all who experience Camp Olson YMCA through instruction and a direct experience with nature.
Camp Olson is an independently chartered YMCA. Visit their website for information.

Safety is our first priority.
Campers are taught the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
All camp staff are CPR and first-aid certified. With a staff-to-child ratio of 1:15, we make sure that each staff member can give the required attention to each child.
