Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, lifeguards will supervise the aquatic area to prevent accidents, assist swimmers, and keep the area and facilities clean. Lifeguards will create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere to give members a sense of belonging. Lifeguards must be reliable, courteous, and ready to act. Lifeguards must demonstrate the core values of YMCA’s Character Development: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
Anyone, ages 15+, can learn the necessary skills needed to respond to an emergency situation. The course includes Lifeguarding skills, CPR Pro and AED use with skills in basic first aid. Participants must attend both days of class and pass exam at the end in order to become certified.
Learn lifesaving skills, and make a smooth transition to the American Red Cross Lifeguard course.

Water Front Lifeguard Certification
This class is for current Red Cross Lifeguards. Upon completion of the course, you will be certified to guard the water front.
