Smiling man standing in front of the pool

Jared Anderson, a former high school swimmer and diver from Rochester, MN, has always had a connection to the water. But in 2024, that connection turned into a personal challenge: joining the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA's 100-Mile Swim Club.

Jared set a steady pace early in the year, swimming about three times a week and aiming for at least a mile per session. However, summer travels added a twist to his journey. While adventures away from home pulled him out of the pool, they didn’t pull him away from his goal. Jared refocused during the fall and winter months, increasing his swims and logging extra miles to make up for lost time.

Through discipline and determination, Jared reached the 100-mile milestone, proving that persistence is key—even when life gets busy. His story reminds us that fitness goals are achieved one stroke at a time, and the YMCA is here to help you along the way.

Congratulations, Jared, on your incredible accomplishment!
