Guests

Guests are always welcome at the YMCA! All guests must present a photo I.D. and register at the front desk. Guests under the age of 15 must be signed in by an adult. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times or enrolled in a YMCA program. The only exception is that children aged 7–9 may be in the pool area when a parent is in the facility.

Cancellation Policy

Should you choose to end your Y experience, please fill out a termination form prior to the 20th of the month. Failure to do so will result in membership charges for the next month. The $50 joining fee must be paid upon membership reactivation.

WHAT IS CHILD WATCH?

Child watch is FREE with all Household Memberships!

Parent or guardian must remain in the building while using Child Watch. Only the parent or guardian who checked the child in will be allowed to check the child out, unless specified otherwise. There is a 2 hour limit that a child can be in Child Watch.

DO I NEED TO SIGN UP FOR GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES?

Group Exercise classes are free with your membership. Our land classes are offered in the group exercise studios on the second floor and water classes are held in the aquatic center. Just check the guide on the group exercise schedule to find the class location.  Minimum age for attending Group Exercise Classes, unless otherwise noted, is 13. 

To participate in group exercise classes, be present at the class location 5-10 minutes before class starts, and the instructor will guide you. If you’re new, don’t be afraid to ask questions!

WHERE CAN I FIND POOL, GYM, AND GROUP EXERCISE SCHEDULES?

If you are in the facility, you can find schedules in the literature rack in the lobby or the wellness center.

HOW DO I CHECK IN?

Stop by the welcome center with your membership card to check-in each time you visit the Y. Workouts submitted for insurance reimbursement are taken from daily computer scans.

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO BE AT THE YMCA?

Members must be 10 years old to be left alone at the YMCA. Guests must also be 10 years old but all guests under the age of 15 must be signed-in by an adult 18 years of age or older.

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO USE THE WELLNESS CENTER?
  • Ages 0-11: May use track under direct supervision from a parent/supervising adults
  • Ages 12-17: May use upstairs wellness center upon completion of Active Teens Orientation
  • Ages 16-17: Permitted to use the downstairs wellness center free weights upon completion of Strong Teens Orientation

If pertaining orientations have not been completed child may not use the wellness centers

An orientation refresh is strongly suggested for all members with new equipment that is now available.  Please schedule an orientation with the wellness center staff.

Violation of the code of conduct may result in  the suspension of YMCA privilege

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO USE THE AQUATIC CENTER?
  • Children Ages 7 & Under: Must be within arms-reach of a parent or supervising adult in the pool. Adults must be in the water with the child and not on the pool deck.
  • Children Ages 8-9: Allowed to use the pool independent from a parent or supervising adult, as long as they are present in the building. You will always find certified lifeguards on duty, every hour the pool is open.
  • Children Ages 10 & Up: May use the pools without a parent or supervising adult in the facility.

Children 42" and taller may use the slide. There are also appropriate aquatic features for Children under 42".

In-Person: As always, we are happy to take your registration at the front desk during building hours.

DOES MY MEMBERSHIP WORK AT OTHER YMCAS?

YES! The Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA participates in Nationwide Membership. Your membership will work at other participating YMCAs.
