Youth in Government (YIG) offers an unparalleled opportunity for Willmar area students in grades 8-12 to dive deep into the workings of government through this immersive program.

Youth in Government in Willmar, MN

Participants will engage in focused discussions on current issues, partake in exciting social events and evening activities, and develop leadership skills through hands-on experiences.

High school students can choose to serve as legislators, judges, attorneys, lobbyists, media representatives, or cabinet members, while 8th graders explore all areas through the Leadership Corps. The program culminates in a dynamic conference in early January, held at the Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis and the Minnesota State Capitol, where delegates from Minnesota and Western Wisconsin come together.
