Family of three smiling in YMCA Child Watch

It’s Saturday morning, and your "to-do" list is already a mile long. Between grocery runs to Cash Wise and shuttling the kids to practice or activities, finding a second for yourself feels impossible.

It’s easy to feel that "Minnesota Nice" guilt when you think about taking an hour for yourself.

But here’s the truth: you can’t pour from an empty cup, and our Kandiyohi County community is stronger when our parents are healthy and energized.

Your Saturday Morning Reset (8:15 – 10:15 AM)

We’ve got the perfect game plan to help you ditch the guilt and find your glow. Drop the kiddos off at Child Watch. (available every Saturday from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m.). Our team will keep them safe and having fun while you focus entirely on you. Plus, there's an indoor playground.

Not sure what to do with your kid-free time? If you love the energy of a group, jump into a Total Body Conditioning class at 9 a.m. to blow off some steam.

Prefer to go at your own pace? Grab a lane for some peaceful laps in the pool or just hit the fitness center for a solo session while listening to your favorite podcast (totally uninterrupted ).

The "Secret" Self-Care

Since kids can stay in Child Watch for up to two hours, don’t rush back out into the Willmar cold! Use those extra minutes to enjoy a hot shower after your workout.

Follow it up with a free cup of coffee in the lobby that you actually get to drink while it’s still hot. It’s a small luxury that makes a world of difference before you head back out into the real world.

Afternoon Adventures: Family Fun Swim

After you’ve filled your own tank, it’s time for some family bonding.

Head into the pool and enjoy some family time in the water with the waterslide and water features. It’s the best way to burn off that extra weekend winter energy.

If you aren't feeling the pool, head to the gym for some games. You’re not just having fun, you’re showing your kids that being active is a blast.

Whether you’re hitting the waterslide with the kids or enjoying a quiet cup of coffee in the lobby, you’ve earned this break. We can't wait to see you and your family around the Y, neighbor!
